Dexter Series 6 "Get Gellar" - Review

Dexter Series 6 Episode 9 "Get Gellar"

Cast: Michael C. Hall, Jennifer Carpenter, James Remar, C. S. Lee, Desmond Harrington and David Zayas
Review - SPOILER ALERT!
Season 6 has just got better and better since episode 6 in a lot of ways. Okay let’s give you a brief summary of the storyline, Dexter and Travis work together to put a stop to Gellar’s killing spree as the Debra and team is getting closer in hunting them down, this probably the best of the season with even smarter twist then other episodes, that’s right the writers have mange to fool you and myself yet again with a shocking discovery.

Well each season has been different dealing with Dexter’s life through Rita, Lumen, Brian etc. it’s always interesting to see the new changeling a head with him, it’s fun to watch every episode and see where it leads because you never know if Dexter’s going to get court….last season it was known if this was going to happened, with Debra being so close at the end. So the theme of Season 6 is Dexter being a “better father” and controlling he’s dark passenger now more than ever, has we saw from episode 8 with brain (The Ice Truck Killer) showing to us the audience what Dexter could really be, that again is shown in this episode with him trying to save Travis soul by killing he’s dark passenger Dexter feels that if he can help Travis find a new life, maybe there’s hope for Dexter to become a better father.

But things don’t work out like we planned, has both Travis and Dexter head to the church to put a stop to Gellar once and for all, Dexter finds him dead in a coffin-sized ice chest with that shocking discovery he realizes that Gellar has been dead for years and Travis has actually been committing all the murders himself, schizophrenically imagining that the professor is doing the killings. Much like the other episodes with Dexter seeing he’s dark passenger and he’s  guardian spirit Harry….Travis is seeing he’s own passenger through Gellar. This is the best twist yet of the season and the funny thing is that it makes senses looking back I don’t remember Gellar actually doing any of the murders, being a fan of Dexter now for six years it still shocked me in bringing something new and of course a challenge for Dexter.

Overall this is the best episode yet, still got three episodes left lol so I can’t wait for that, I’ve notice the other characters like Angel and Debra are at the top of their game, it’s nice to have a balance between Dexter and Debra always in enjoy see them with together, very light hearted sometimes (which is a good thing).

Thanks for reading :D

Dexter Series 6 "Just Let Go" - Review

Dexter Series 6 Episode 6 "Just Let Go"

Cast: Michael C. Hall, Jennifer Carpenter, James Remar, C. S. Lee, Desmond Harrington and David Zayas

Review - SPOILER ALERT!
This season so far, as had been pretty well we’ll seen new characters, a new serial killer called “Doomsday Killer” for Dexter to hunt down and of course the brilliant cast. You’re probably thinking all is good in Dexter’s world with Harrison (Dexter’s son, if you don’t know from some reason lol) and the challenges of being a father, which is shown more in early episodes…all that we thought up until this episode as gone in the other direction that’s right this is the twist of the season.
Looking back on other seasons, we the audience have always liked Dexter and how he deals with the dark passenger inside, He’s tried to battle it by taking out other killers and later finds a number of different characters with the darkness like Miguel, Lila, Arthur, Jordan and the returningIce Truck Killer” Brian Moser. This was great twist by the writers as we all know the character is dead much like Harry being the light of Dexter’s mind (or soul) and helping him thought he’s weak moments; Brain is the opposite side being the true darkness of Dexter….man it really sounds like a supernatural thing but it’s one person fighting himself just trying let go, Brother Sam asked Dexter to give Nick a message of forgave before he passed on which was a surprising as I thought Sam’s character could of stills longer anyway this gives Dexter a choice, one fight the dark passenger by not killing Nick (the guy who shot Brother Sam) or kill Nick and continue losing yourself in the never ending battle.

Unfortunately, when Dexter relayed the message to Nick, the killer momentarily cried and then laughed because he knew that he would never get caught. A lot of like first two episodes of Season 5 Dexter turned off the only goodness that was left in his body, by plunging Nick inside the sea, when Dexter looked up, he didn’t see his usual guardian spirit, Harry. Instead we see he’s Brother Brian. That means Dexter had lost all the light and been overpowered by the darkness he was trying to fight and the question is now how well he get the light back? Going onto the “Doomsday killer” Travis the character which was on the side between good & evil decides to take in what Dexter says by leaving Professor Gellar.

Overall this was strongest episode of the season, I really don’t know what’s coming next and as a viewer that’s amazing lol
